"People often ask me if the women on this web site are -well, models...and I say, no... but every one of them could be." Reveals photographer and artist Ila, (her name pronounced: EELAH). It is no surprise then that so many people wonder, "...then how is it that these women actually look like models?" Ila tends to take a unique approach when she photographs a woman:

"First of all, I believe that almost all beings, especially women, possess their own special beauty which emanates from within -and that the beauty of a woman's femininity is something to proud of. Whether she is soft and dainty or tough and strong; beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, ages, colors and personalities; there is no paticular sterio-type of what is beautiful, and I truly believe this.

I often find that we as women, myself included, do not always see oursleves in our best light, we tend to depreciate oursleves, perhaps because the media conveys superflous concpets to the world, or perhaps because someone said something unkind to us at some point in our life. I am here to say wipe all that out of your mind. It doesn't mean a thing in reality. What exists is you, a beautiful individual, and there is no one else like you in the whole univirese. I wanted to create a place where every woman can feel glamourus; because every woman deserves to!

When I photograph a woman I spend some time with her; getting to know her mannerisms and personality and what it is that she may be looking for in her photographs,we have a lot of fun and sort of hang out together, that way the she's is relaxed and herself, so that when we photograph, it is an enjoyable experience -- and there will most likely always be lovely pictures as a result." "But," she adds, "even if your 'e in a bad mood, sad or soulful, it is still a unique expression of your individual beauty and the beauty of that depth will also evolve in a photograph. The experience is not generic to who is in front of the lens; it is as authentic as a woman's fingerprint. When you, the lens and myself all work together - we are all a fantastic symphony! ... what's really exciting for me and the client is to see the end result in their photographs; it's always a unique expression of a woman's personal beauty -and it's always amazing."

Ila has been a photographer for 5-years and has taken over 20,000 photographs of women in all reposes. She has worked as an assistant agent in an Acting/Modeling agency for models and plus-sized models, and has experience in television and modeling. "I know what it's like to be in front of a camera and how it can be a little intimidating, so I have empathy when I photograph a woman; I want to make this a pleasurable comfortable experience." She reveals. Ila is also a natural born artist; a trait she says she inherited from her mother, and like her mother, she enjoys sculpturing and she loves water-color painting; "My favorite paintings are of women in romantic settings." She says. Ila is also working on her Master's Degree in Creative Writing from A.S.U., and is currently putting together a book of memoirs from her travel experiences in India; the book will also include many wonderful photographs of women from India with poems reminiscent of their beauty.

On a personal note: Let it be known that my mother is my inspiration: she is the light of my soul, as magical as a butterfly; she is a very youthful 70-year –old, with a million-dollar smile, and she is like sunshine when she walks into a room.  But last year, she did not feel well and gave in to feeling unattractive and old and not smiling at all.  She would come to me and say, “Ila, I am so ugly.”

But honestly, all I could see was the most beautiful woman.

 One day after she had been crying, I said to her, “Let’s take some pictures of you.”  

Her photos revealed her self to her -the way she truly is - the way I see her- Stunning.

She cried again, but this time they were tears of happiness. It has made a world of difference to her to see herself like that; and in turn it has given me joy to see her smile again.
